Conjugal Visit

Sanji loved his pet truly, deeply, madly, stupidly, unbelievably. All sorts of other -lys. But some days–

Some days.

“How did this happen?”

Sanji stood beside a young Marine Private, wearing a uniform he’d stolen from the base laundry. It had rank insignia and a cap, which allowed him to move more freely around the tiny Marine base. He’d overheard a small group of Marines bragging in town that they’d captured Roronoa Zoro. Sanji had come to rescue his beloved pet – only to find him sleeping, unchained, and still in possession of his swords.

“I was behind the door at the filing cabinet, and he just wandered in,” the Private said. “He looked confused for a second, then walked right into the cell, took a seat, and fell asleep.”

“And you didn’t think to take his swords? Maybe chain him up?”

“I know who that is. I’d rather not be cut up into tiny pieces and used as fish bait.”

“It was only that one time,” Sanji muttered. And it hadn’t been to catch fish. The dead guy had gotten fed to the sharks. Not even on purpose. Usopp had tripped over the body and it fell in.

Sanji stared at Zoro, then looked back at the Private standing next to him. “You ever want to fuck a wanted pirate?”

The private’s eyes grew huge. “No,” he squeaked.

“Hmm. Pity.” Sanji would ask if anyone else on the base might want to, but he’d hate for Nami to find out the reason they had to flee an island was because they’d been messing around with the Marines. “How about torturing one a little bit? Bet you have all sorts of fun toys we can use.”

“M-maybe we should just leave him alone until the ship arrives.”

Right. He also had a time limit.

“Very well. You go run along and do Private things. I’ll take over watching the prisoner.”

“You sure you don’t want me to stay?”

“Are you questioning my orders, Private?”

“Sir, no, sir.”

“Then scram.”

The Private saluted, nearly smacking himself in the face in his hurry, then dashed out the door.

Sanji went over to it, closed it, and locked it. No sense in being interrupted without warning.

The jail was barely more than an office with two cells built into the back wall. A scarred wooden desk sat near the entrance beneath shelves crowded with ledgers, loose papers, and whatever forms the Marines needed to pretend they were organized. A filing cabinet stood against one wall, with a few mismatched chairs arranged around it for anyone unlucky enough to be brought in for questioning. Two barred cells side by side. Each had a narrow cot and a small window inset high in the stone wall, crossed with iron bars. Late-afternoon light came through Zoro’s and fell across the floor in pale strips.

Sanji found the keys in one of the desks, opened the cell door, and tucked them into a pocket. He stepped inside and walked right up to Zoro. He stared at him for a long moment, taking in the soft green eyelashes against his cheek, the relaxed curve of his jaw, and the fall of his hair over his forehead.

With a sigh, Sanji took off the Marine cap and tossed it onto the cot beside Zoro. Then he straddled Zoro’s extended legs and settled onto his lap. Zoro didn’t stir. Sanji knew it was because he innately sensed it was Sanji and no one else. Not even Chopper could get this close without Zoro noticing.

Sanji threaded his fingers through Zoro’s hair. It was getting long and needed a cut, though it was fun to pull when it got this way. He scratched Zoro’s scalp, treating him exactly like the pet he was. “Marimo, marimo, marimo. What am I going to do with you?”

Zoro snuffled softly and started to stir. His eye cracked open, and a small, sleepy smile curved the corner of his lips. “Hey.”

“Don’t ‘hey’ me, pet.” Sanji tried to scold him, but he was still scratching his head. “You’re in jail. A Marine jail.”

Zoro hummed and leaned into Sanji’s touch. “Got turned around.”

“Do I need to put a leash on you all the time now?”

Zoro’s eye took on a gleam. “Maybe.”

Sanji clicked his tongue. “Pervy swordsman.”

Not that he was any better. The thought sent a heated rush through him.

Zoro’s gaze dropped briefly to Sanji’s mouth, then met Sanji’s again. “May I?” he asked, his hands hovering near Sanji’s waist.

Sanji granted permission, and Zoro’s hands settled against his back, pushing beneath the borrowed uniform coat. Sanji tugged lightly at Zoro’s hair, then slid a finger over the moxibustion brand behind his ear. “You know what I do to naughty pets, don’t you?”

“Spank them?”

Sanji laughed at the eagerness in Zoro’s voice. Affection bubbled in his chest. Instead of spanking him, Sanji leaned in and captured Zoro’s lips in a kiss.

Zoro’s soft sigh against his mouth never failed to remind Sanji that, for all their rough play, gentle could be nice, too. Their mouths moved together slowly and lazily, in no hurry to do anything except kiss. Passion underlined everything between them, but it wasn’t the purpose. The purpose was simply to feel and taste and have him close. A kiss that was just a kiss.

It reminded Sanji that this wasn’t only some sexcapade they were having. He was in love with Zoro. He knew Zoro was in love with him, too.

Some days his doubts about his body modifications and himself still drove him to places he wasn’t proud of. Zoro was always there to bring him back to himself, though – loving him the way Sanji needed to be loved, without censure or pity or shame.

They kissed for a long while, breaths mingling, lips meeting, parting, and meeting again. Slow sweeps of tongue gave way to softer kisses whenever one of them paused for breath.

Beyond the barred window, the sun had begun sinking toward the horizon, laying warmer light across the stone walls. Waves rushed gently against the nearby shore, and an occasional voice drifted in on the salty breeze before fading beneath the distant cries of gulls.

Sanji drew back and rested his forehead against Zoro’s for a brief moment before telling him, “Take your dick out and stroke yourself for me.”

“Yes, Sanji,” Zoro said softly, his gaze full of warmth.

In their everyday lives, Zoro called him cook, aho, curls, and every other eyebrow-related name under the sun. When directions were given, though, it was sometimes sir, occasionally master, but always Sanji by name.

Sanji had taken his name back from the man who’d sired him and put it in a position of power, made it his. To have this strong, capable man in front of him say it with reverence and obedience made Sanji feel as if nothing could shake him.

Sanji shifted so Zoro could move his long coat aside and free himself from the confines of his trousers. Zoro licked his palm and wrapped his hand around himself, working himself to hardness. The gold hoop at the tip caught the dull light coming through the window.

Sanji watched as Zoro worked himself slowly, making a show of it just for him. When Sanji glanced up, Zoro was looking at him with a stupidly adoring expression for some unknown reason.

Sanji just had to kiss him again.

When Sanji had first heard Zoro was in jail at the Marine base, his first thought had been, Hey, maybe I can get some Marines to fuck my pet. His second had been that, if that wasn’t the case, at least they probably had some fun toys he could sneak away with.

Then came his third thought – the heroic one, naturally. He would swoop in and rescue his beloved, and they would have some grand romantic moment because Sanji still loved romance, even if his choice of partner thought romance was taking a bath twice per week instead of once.

Now that he was here, though, with Zoro right in front of him and kissing him, Sanji mostly wanted to just stay close to the idiot who had stolen his heart.

A gull cried somewhere beyond the barred window, and a gust off the water pushed salt air through the cell. From a desk came the faint scrape of paper shifting in the breeze, followed by the distant clatter of boots somewhere deeper in the base.

Sanji fished the lube out of his pocket. He carried it because not everybody enjoyed dry fucking. He couldn’t feel pain the same way anymore, and Zoro got off on it, but that didn’t mean everything they did needed to involve it. Sometimes lube simply made things easier.

Sanji broke the kiss and stood. Zoro looked up at him questioningly. Sanji handed him the lube. “Use that on yourself.”

Zoro immediately complied.

While he did, Sanji toed off his shoes and shed his trousers and boxers, setting them neatly on the cot beside them. He braced one hand on Zoro’s shoulder as he moved back in, Zoro’s hands settling automatically at his hips. Then he straddled Zoro’s lap again, positioned him, and slowly sank down.

They both moaned softly. The fullness had always been one of Sanji’s favorite parts. He could still feel all the pleasure that came with the act, even if his altered body meant he mostly missed out on the pain. But this wasn’t about pain, or any of their other fun, perverted games.

Sanji slid his arms around Zoro’s neck and pushed his fingers into the hair at the back of his head, rubbing lightly as he brought their mouths together again. He began to roll his hips, rising and sinking in a slow rhythm, savoring the closeness despite their location.

Zoro didn’t seem to mind. He kissed Sanji back with a softness that still held passion, but without the urgency they so often chased. If Sanji was being romantic about it, they were making love. Even if it was still a little kinky.

Zoro’s hands found Sanji’s back again beneath the borrowed coat, gripping him loosely, then tighter, then loosening again as Sanji moved in his lap. Time had given them this. Trust had given them this. Zoro knew the ugliest parts of him now. There wasn’t much left Sanji could convince himself would send Zoro running. They’d weathered several storms together and come out stronger on the other side.

Sanji continued to ride him, feeling Zoro fill and empty him with every slow movement. The rhythm was languid, meant more for simply feeling and being together than racing toward climax. Sanji’s mouth moved over Zoro’s again, his tongue slipping between those slightly chapped lips.

Zoro answered immediately, kissing him back with the same slow attention. Zoro’s breath brushed Sanji’s upper lip. Sanji slid one hand to his chest and felt the steady beat of his heart through the shirt.

Sanji could tell he was waxing poetical in his own head, but sometimes he got that way. Everything between them didn’t have to be about being a master to his pet. Sometimes it was simply about Zoro. About loving Zoro and wanting him to know it.

Outside, a chorus of gulls near the shore suddenly took flight. Their calls carried briefly through the barred window before scattering into the distance. The lowering sun slanted farther across the stone wall, catching on the iron bars and the edge of Sanji’s discarded Marine cap. Footsteps occasionally passed beyond the closed jail door. Sanji kept half an ear on them. Observation Haki would keep them from getting caught unaware, and Zoro had never actually been in any serious danger of remaining a Marine prisoner.

A tiny part of Sanji was disappointed he didn’t get to play the hero. He’d spent too much of his life believing that loving someone meant throwing himself away for them. He didn’t want that anymore. He had too much to live for now, even on the days when remembering that was difficult.

But a grand, heroic, romantic gesture where Zoro actually needed him? That would have been fun.

Sanji rolled his hips, and Zoro’s hold tightened around him in response. Their mouths met again, slow and lingering, breaking only long enough for a breath before coming back together. Sanji felt Zoro’s breathing begin to roughen slightly against his lips and smiled faintly into the next kiss. “You can come when you want,” he murmured against Zoro’s mouth.

Zoro hummed in acknowledgment.

They settled back into the same unhurried rhythm. The coarse blanket bunched beneath Sanji’s knees on either side of Zoro’s hips, the old cot springs giving a faint creak beneath them whenever Sanji shifted his weight. Zoro’s swords rested against the cot behind them, safely out of the way. Salt air drifted through the barred window and mixed with the musk of sex inside the cramped cell.

Sanji felt Zoro’s heartbeat begin to pick up beneath his palm. His breathing quickened, too. Sanji pulled away and rested his forehead against Zoro’s again, glancing down at his saliva-slick lips. He kept his own breathing controlled, content to bring Zoro to fulfillment without caring much about his own hardened need right now.

Zoro’s fingers tightened against his back. Climax overtook him without the aggressive force it sometimes had, rolling through him slowly instead. His body shuddered beneath Sanji’s arms, and Sanji captured the breathy sounds of his orgasm in another kiss.

When Zoro finally relaxed against him, Sanji drew back again. He stayed settled on Zoro’s lap, unmoving, and met his eye. “All good, love?”

Zoro nodded, looking thoroughly satisfied. “What about you?”

“You can take care of me back on the ship. Right now, I think we should get going before more Marines arrive.”

“I could take them.”

Sanji laughed lightly. “I have no doubt. They left you your swords.”

“The bars are Seastone,” Zoro said, apparently feeling the need to defend the Marines.

“But everything around them is not. I’m sure you would’ve busted through the wall and somehow taken the entire cell outside with you.”

Zoro grinned and chuckled. “Yeah. Probably.”

Sanji tisked and climbed off Zoro’s lap. He used the blanket from the cot to quickly clean both of them before redressing in his boxers and trousers. Zoro tucked himself away and straightened his coat, then stood and collected his katanas, settling them back at his side.

Sanji picked up the Marine cap from the cot and put it on. “At least pretend you’re in handcuffs, or something. Maybe we can get out of here without leveling this poor tiny base. That young Private only needs scaring once in a lifetime.”

“Fine,” Zoro said and put his hands behind his back.

Sanji kept the jail keys just in case. There appeared to be a couple of Seastone keys on the ring, too, and Nami could probably sell those for a respectable amount.

He unlocked the door, opened it, and peeked outside. Nobody was in the hall.

Sanji led the way toward the exit, making sure to catch Zoro by the shoulder and tug him back in the correct direction when Zoro arbitrarily decided to take a left at an intersection where the route to the exit obviously continued straight ahead.

They didn’t encounter anyone until they reached the exit itself. Four Marines were gathered near the doors. Sanji stopped as the Marines looked at him. Sanji pointed urgently past them, keeping the officer cap tipped low to shadow his face. “Look! Another Straw Hat pirate!”

All four spun around. “Where?”

“There!” Sanji pointed harder.

The Marines took off running in the direction he’d indicated.

Sanji snickered softly and led Zoro away without further incident.

Once they were clear of the base itself, Zoro dropped his hands and fell into step beside Sanji. There was no leash, and therefore no practical difference. Zoro’s stride was loose and confident, and a small smile played across his lips.

Sanji shed the Marine coat and cap, then lit a cigarette from the pack in his vest. “What are you smiling about?”

“Just when I think you can’t surprise me anymore, you do.”

Sanji felt his ears heat and took a long drag on his cigarette. “I’ll try to be less predictable in the future.”

Zoro cut him a sidelong grin. “Then I can’t wait to find out what you come up with next.”

They made their way across town toward the docks. The Sunny rose ahead, half hidden behind a freighter unloading cargo. The others were already bustling around the deck, preparing the ship for departure.

As they climbed the gangplank, Zoro leaned a little closer and whispered, “What about my spanking?”

Sanji snorted. “Bend yourself over a barrel in the supply room once we cast off.”

Zoro suddenly had considerably more enthusiasm in his step as he went to help bring in the mooring lines.

Sanji shook his head. Sometimes he still couldn’t believe he’d ended up with Zoro as his pet.

He wouldn’t trade it for anything.
